We both love to travel and believe it doesn’t always mean taking time off work, spending lots of money, or even going to exotic places every time. Our goal is to inspire you to experience new places and fit in into your existing lifestyle!

Our story

Turning our dream of long-term travel into a reality.

Since we both love traveling, the early days of our relationship started with a lot of travel. It’s one of the best ways to get to know someone and see if you’re compatible. Traveling together is easy and we both play off of each other’s strengths. Hillary is the planner that organizes all the trips to make them happen. Kris is the spontaneous one that finds the best things off the beaten path.

We lived together in North Carolina and had busy corporate careers where we both traveled extensively. Then in March of 2020, everything came to a grinding halt - COVID hit. Our travel plans for the rest of the year were cancelled. We went from working in an office full time to working in a small 1-bedroom apartment. It was tough. Then came Axle.

Axle was the one who kept us going during the early days of the pandemic. He was a rescue pup and turned out to be the best dog we could’ve ever hoped for. He loves traveling just as much us.

Then in 2021, we were tired of our trips continuing to get cancelled so we decided to purchase our first RV and travel around the US. We loved every part of it. Even the hard parts. Once we realized that we could continue to work remote, we made it permanent. In mid-2022, we sold our home and started full-time RV life. We both couldn’t be happier!

“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take, relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make.”

Frequently Asked Questions - About Us

  • Kris was born in a small rural farm town in Minnesota and then moved to the Tri-cities area in Washington state. Hillary was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. We met while both living in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. Our ‘home base’ when we’re not on the road is still in North Carolina.

  • Axle is a lab, hound, rottie mix (we think!). We got him in 2020 and he was only 8 weeks old. Someone had found him alone in the woods, malnourished and he had a big gash on his chin. Luckily, he was able to find his way into our home. He’s a stubborn dog full of energy, but he’s affectionate and adventurous. He always makes us laugh or smile and we love him dearly!

  • We have a Class A motorhome. It’s an American Coach, American Dream 45A model. We bought this RV in early 2023. It’s actually our 2nd RV, we purchased our 1st motorhome in 2021, which was a Dynamax DX3 Super C motorhome.

After making the move to full time RV life, we decided that a larger size Class A motorhome better fit our needs so we made the switch!

  • We purchased our RV through General RV in Tampa, FL. We attended the FL RV Supershow in Jan. 2023 and toured tons of different RVs. We saw the one that we ended up purchasing and fell in love with it. Luckily, we were able to negotiate a great deal from the RV show.

  • The best thing about RV life for us is the ability to experience new places from the comfort of home. We get a bit stir crazy being in the same place for too long so the RV is perfect for us. We can move around and stay at different locations across the US, all while having the conveniences of home with us.

The worst thing about RV travel that we’ve realized is the difficulty to be spontaneous. This was something that we underestimated when we first started RV’ing. Most destinations are booked 6-12 months in advance - especially for larger size spaces. It can be a real challenge to find availability at campgrounds and you have to plan pretty far in advance for most destinations.

  • We both work full time and have busy corporate careers within the same industry - healthcare technology. It’s a lot to manage at times, but we’re lucky to have jobs that allow us the flexibility to work from anywhere.

  • Not at all! As soon as we sold our house, we realized how freeing it was to not have a mortgage payment anymore or another property to maintain. We had a beautiful house in an awesome location, but we traveled so much that we never got to fully enjoy it without feeling guilty about being away. Now we can fully focus our efforts on traveling around to different places.

  • We get this question a lot and we always laugh about it. We actually do better together in a smaller space funny enough. At our former house, we had 2,000 sq ft and somehow we were always in the same room together so downsizing didn’t feel different to us. Some things can be more challenging like storage space, but it helps us be more intentional with everything we take with us. Instead of frivolously buying things that we don’t need to fill up a big house, we spend our time and money on experiences that make us way happier. Living in an RV will definitely help you realize if you’re truly compatible with someone!

  • Our best advice is to not be afraid to dive in. RV life and travel isn’t always glamorous or easy, but it is so rewarding. You can always find excuses not to do something. When we first bought our RV, we had no clue how anything worked or how to even drive it. We figured it all out along the way. There are lots of YouTube tutorials and blog posts that teach you how to do things. It will be frustrating and maddening at times, but conquering it is half the fun!

  • We purchased our American Coach motorhome in January of 2023. After living in it full time for several months and enjoying our experience, we reached out to REV Recreation Group, Inc. (parent company who owns American Coach) to ask about the opportunity to collaborate and help amplify their brand. We do have an official partnership with them currently that started in July 2023 as we truly love our RV and would highly recommend an American Coach to anyone looking for an RV. When we were shopping for a new RV, we were not that familiar with American Coach so we jumped at the opportunity to showcase why we love our motorhome and why we would recommend it over other RV manufacturers based on our personal experience. Our goal is to help share our experiences with others to inspire them to get out and explore!
